At the Savoy Swing Club (a 501c3 Organization), our mission is to celebrate the rich cultural heritage and pure joy of Black American vernacular jazz dances. We’re all about creating opportunities for everyone—no matter your gender, identity, background, or ability—to experience the magic of swing dancing through lessons, performances, workshops, social dances, and community events.
We love partnering with local non-profits to bring arts education to youth and under-served communities, while also supporting and growing the incredible Pacific Northwest dance scene. Whether you’re new to dance or a seasoned jazz artist, we’re here to inspire, connect, and keep the spirit of swing alive.

The Lowdown Ballroom
Lowdown Ballroom is a music and arts venue located in a basement on Capitol Hill, offering dance classes and an intimate “living room” music concert experience. The space is also available to rent for private and group rehearsals, meetings, classes, workshops and special events. Centrally located, just blocks from the Capitol Hill Light Rail station, and within walking distance from numerous bus lines, great restaurants, and local parks!
