Sharing the Joy of Swing Dance
The Savoy Swing Club Performance Troupe is a non-profit, all-volunteer ensemble of passionate dancers dedicated to sharing the joy and history of swing dance. We perform and teach at a wide variety of local events, spreading awareness and appreciation for the classic dances of the 1920s, 1930s, and 1940s, including Lindy Hop, Charleston, Balboa, and more. Our mission is to bring the energy and spirit of swing to the community, fostering connection and celebrating its cultural heritage.
Founded in 1993 alongside the creation of the Savoy Swing Club, the Performance Troupe has the distinction of being the first Lindy Hop-based performance troupe in the Pacific Northwest. In its early days, every member of the Savoy Swing Club was part of the troupe, reflecting the club's commitment to preserving and promoting this rich dance tradition. Over the years, the troupe has grown into a beloved cornerstone of the local dance scene, known for its vibrant performances and dedication to education.
